Swim teacher age lowered to help fix nationwide shortage
16-year-olds can now become swim instructors as part of a solution to teacher shortages.
AUSTSWIM has lowered the age from 17, to help combat drownings across the country.
Olympian and AUSTSWIM ambassador Brooke Hanson told Deborah Knight they expect thousands of more teachers to get involved.
“We’ve got 33,000 teachers … but we need more.”
