Sydney community blasts Metro ‘cash grab’ eliminating waterfront views
The Millers Point Resident Group is lobbying the state government to back down on a 21-storey residential building in Central Barangaroo.
President of the group Bernard Kelly told Jim Wilson the proposed design blocks views from Anzac Bridge to Observatory Hill and back.
“It’ll stand out like a proverbial.
“[The government] are just trying to do a cash grab to pay for their Metro station.”
Their petition against the development has garnered 2,200 signatures so far, which Mr Kelly hailed as a “good result, but we need 20,000”.
