Sydney councils issue desperate plea for help as roads deteriorate
Councils in flood-affected communities are pleading for the state government to help fix roads which are littered with potholes.
Mayor of Hawkesbury Sarah McMahon told Joe Hildebrand they are in desperate need of help from the state government.
“We just can’t sustain the costs of this anymore. We have endured this time and time again.”

NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury told Joe Hildebrand they have had a 70 per cent increase year-on-year from people who have had car damage from potholes.
“We have done up to 60,000 since the 1st of July. It’s just immeasurable, there is no other way to describe it.”
