Sydney school mother kept in the dark on asbestos finding
A concerned mother wants answers after asbestos was found at a high school four years before the Education Department took action.
A test revealed Castle Hill High school had deadly asbestos fibres floating around its halls for four years.
In 2016, Department staff told parents that a test for asbestos was negative but as of two weeks ago, they were told the test was actually positive.
Kirsten Clarke’s son has battled Leukemia from 8-years-old and attended the school up until 2020.
Kirsten told Jim Wilson she is demanding to find out what exactly the Education Department knew back in 2016 and “what’s taken so long” to finally admit the truth now.
“Are they fully disclosing everything on what they have or haven’t done?”
