Sydney Water ‘won’t budge’ on shameful compulsory land acquisition
The plight of Austral residents Judith and David Kean continues following a shameful offer for a compulsory land acquisition by Sydney water.
The couple’s home of 40 years is set to be flattened to make way for a new sewage treatment plant.
The Keans are happy to move however the offer on the table is currently way below market value.
Liverpool Councillor Nathan Hagarty has been at the centre of this story, he joined Jim Wilson on Drive with some new info.
“Very disappointingly I got a call from Judith Kean … to say effectively Sydney Water haven’t budged,” he said.
“I’m concerned that Sydney Water are hoping to drag this out and take it to court … The amount of money it will cost them in legal bills, essentially the Keans will pull the pin.”
The Keans are currently being gagged from speaking to the media due to the current legal status of the case.
