Australian cricket great Mark Taylor is anticipating lower total scores in this year’s T20 World Cup due to well-worn surface conditions.

The former Test captain told Bill Woods Australia’s “nervy chase” to defeat South Africa was influenced by the pitches’ use for the IPL competition, and less overall maintenance than others around the world.

“We would’ve all loved to have seen Australia chase down the 119 run total in sort of 16, 17 overs.

“But I think that showed that the pitches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and Oman … are not going to be the easiest pitches to play on.

“Scores of 130, 140 … aren’t just walk-up starts.”
