Taxi operators celebrate major win over Uber
Taxi operators are celebrating a win in their battle to create a level playing field with Uber.
The state government has decided to reduce the cost of their CTP Green slips.
The New South Wales Taxi Council says the CTP fund levy will be reduced from an average of $580 to $142 – matching the price paid by ridesharing services.
Taxi Council Chief Executive Martin Rogers tells Alan Jones taxi owners have been hit hard by the influx of rideshare operators.
“So the ridesharing impact to our business is as much as 30% down in terms of the income they’re seeing and the fares into their businesses.”
