Tearing up Chinese lease would be ‘best $600 million we’ve spent’: Ben Fordham
Ben Fordham has called on the government to stand up to China by shredding its 99-year lease of the Port of Darwin to a Chinese-controlled company.
The move would cost hundreds of millions, but Ben Fordham said “it would be the best $600 million we’ve ever spent”.
“What do you think an Australian can buy in China? You’d be lucky to own a postbox.
“It’s pretty simple here, rip up the lease now.
“It’s nothing personal, it’s business, and China understands business.”
