Telehealth crackdown: New rules on the way for online prescriptions
New rules are due to be announced on Wednesday, which will see online doctors banned from prescribing drugs to patients they have never spoken to.
The crackdown is designed to prevent people getting easy access to restricted medications online, with the changes from the Medical Board of Australia set to deliver a large blow to the business model of start-ups like Mosh and Juniper.
President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Dr Nicole Higgins told John Stanley that there are some serious dangers if patients and doctors don’t have proper consultations about their medication needs.
