Sydney’s run of hot weather will continue with Penrith and Richmond forecast to hit 43° today.

The entire state will sizzle with Wilcannia, in the far west, to reach an incredible 48°.

Police are warning people to take care of those who are vulnerable, including the elderly, children and pets.

Steve Price speaks with Tom Hoff from Weatherzone about what to expect today and for the rest of the week.

“At the moment we’ve got a very hot air mass building over central Australia and that hot air mass is going to linger over the Sydney area for the next seven days or so.”
