Ten more ‘distinctly Australian’ sounds preserved for future generations
The National Film and Sound Archive have announced the ten new sounds joining the collection of more than 150 Sounds of Australia in 2021.
NFSA Sound Curator Thorsten Kaeding told Deborah Knight the archive preserves a historical record of sounds so future generations can enjoy and learn from them.
“There’s something distinctly Australian about a lot of the recorded sounds – a lot of the music could only come from Australia.”
