The Elvi have left the building
Across the nation, Elvis impersonators have donned their wigs, combed their side-burns and slid on their blue suede shoes.
Elvis look-alikes are joining forces to celebrate their hero at the annual Parkes Elvis Festival which kicks off today.
Cathy Treasure is the festival’s director and she joins Steve Price to explain what’s in store and how it all began.
“The founders of the festival owned a bar. They pumped up some Elvis tunes one night and they thought, ‘hey, why don’t we start an Elvis festival?’
“The rest is history.”
Thousands of Elvis fanatics from around the world will attend the 26th festival in Central NSW.
“It’s just Elvis, Elvis, Elvis.”
