Ray Hadley has been brought to tears in a deeply emotional chat with one of our very own staff members here at Macquarie Radio.

Our beloved newsreader Amie Meehan has opened up about her brave battle with stage three breast cancer.

Amie’s article has had a massive impact, as she talked through the devastating reality of telling her two young children, Lachlan and Lilian.

Through an emotional journey, Amie stayed strong and came into work nearly every day.

She tells Ray Hadley about the moment she told her children her cancer battle has come to an end.

“They cried and they said to me mummy we thought you were going to die.

“It’s amazing that you just don’t realise how much they internalise and how much they worry.”
