2GB listener Mark contacted Jim Wilson to share a story about how his wife got bitten by a funnel-web spider.

Mark’s wife Sharlene put her UGG boots on last night before the spider bit the bottom of her foot.

She was taken to the hospital, but luckily the spider only injected a small amount of venom.

Australian Reptile Park Spider Keeper Jake Meney told Jim Wilson this is a timely reminder to Aussies have to be vigilant around the house.

“They’re very common inside all types of footwear.”
