A drug safe campaigner is begging people to stay away from “gateway drug” cannabis, slamming a call for it to be legalised.

Yesterday, the Greens began a push to decriminalise marijuana despite resistance from medical experts.

Founder of Drug Safe Australia Michael White tells Ray Hadley he sees firsthand the enormous damage cannabis can do every day.

“I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. I’ve seen the disgusting side of cannabis.

“Cannabis is a gateway drug.”

Michael says the marijuana being sold now is five to six times more powerful than it was 40 years ago.

Today, he’s issuing a warning.

“People think this is a safe drug, it’s not safe.

“We are doing our best to try and get the truth out there and explain to people don’t touch marijuana because it will lead to another drug and that’s where your life will start to fall apart.”
