The Melbourne Storm have overcome a slate of injuries to secure the minor premiership, having rostered on 32 players across the season.

The “outstanding effort” prompted Cronulla Sharks great Paul Gallen to nominate Craig Bellamy for coach of the year.

“32 players … is a hell of a lot of players, and they’re still at the top of the comp,

“To put that into perspective, in 2016 when we won the comp, we used 22 players.

“I was shocked when I found that out.”
