The ‘opportunity’ for Australia to improve its Defence Force
The federal opposition have called for the Albanese government to consider radical policy changes which would allow non-Australian citizens to serve in the Australian Defence Force.
With immigration numbers set to increase, the federal government want to add an extra 18,500 uniformed personnel by 2040, which is a 30 per cent increase on current levels.
Retired Commando Officer, Heston Russell, claims “these are opportunities that we could indeed look at, if there done in a correct and procedural way.”
