The secret behind the famously successful Cabin rehab clinic
One of the world’s leading rehab centres operates in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Ben Fordham wants to know what makes it so effective.
The Cabin began operating in 2010, and has a 96 per cent completion rate.
It has treated 3000 people from across the globe, including NRL star Mitchell Pearce.
CEO Gary Denson tells Ben the physical distance can be beneficial for Australians looking to break their addictions.
“You’re immediately taken away from your triggers,” Mr Denson said.
“You’re taken out of your social network, which may not be so much of a positive network.
“We peel back the addictive influences, and typically there’s some traumatic event that has transpired.”
Mr Denson says rehab rewards those who stay the course.
“What we’ve learnt is: the longer you’re in treatment, the greater chance of recovery.”
