The song Ray Hadley says should be performed at the NRL grand final
Award-winning Matt Scullion has performed his single Aussie As live in-studio.
He is the winner of the 2018 Golden Guitar Song of the Year, for his song ‘Our Backyard’ performed by Travis Collins and Amber Lawrence.
Aussie As is Matt’s tribute to Aussie life, and Ray Hadley thinks it should be played at one of Australia’s greatest sporting events.
“I don’t know if I can but I’d like to sing this song at the NRL grand final,” Matt says.
“You know what, I’d love for you to do it as well,” Ray agrees.

Matt is well known for his songwriting but he tells Ray Hadley he has a love of performing.
“I was actually quite happy just writing songs.
“I love writing songs about Australia… and I just felt it was time to step out of the shadows and have a go at doing it myself.”
