‘They made their choice’: Nationals leader demands ISIS brides transparency
Nationals leader David Littleproud says the Australian people have the right to demand answers on the return of the families of Islamic State members.
Four Australian women and 13 children have been removed from a camp in eastern Syria and reportedly resettled in Sydney’s west.
The women travelled to the country three years ago to be with their husbands and boyfriends fighting for Islamic State.
Mr Littleprouid told Ben Fordham the government should be transparent on the risks of the repatriation.
“They made their choice a long time ago. When we were in government we could never get comfort in bringing these people back because of security reasons.”
“If you do the wrong thing you have to pay the price. They should pay the price by staying over there.”
