A 29-year-old man is in hospital after falling through the roof of a JB Hi-Fi store during an alleged break-in in Sydney’s north-west.

Authorities responded to reports of a break-in at a Rouse Hill shopping centre in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police say two people broke into the store through a roof cavity and were stealing property.

The 29-year-old fell through the roof and ended up with a head injury.

The man is under police guard in Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

Police are searching for the other man involved.
