‘This guy is a prime offender’: Big Guns unleash on outgoing Race Discrimination Commissioner
The outgoing Race Discrimination Commissioner has caused quite a stir on his way out, declaring the parliament and sections of the media threaten “racial harmony”.
Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane has taken aim at ministers within the Turnbull government, accusing them of igniting “panic and hysteria about African gangs”.
But his comments don’t end there, with Mr Soutphommasane proclaiming it’s never been a more exciting time to be a “race-baiting commentator”.
The Big Guns have weighed in on the commissioner’s remarks, with Andrew Bolt being the first to unleash.
“I think there’s never been a better time to be someone who wants to shut down debate and get paid more than $300,000 by going around and shouting ‘racist’.
“Anyone who denies, for instance, that Melbourne has a problem with Sudanese crime games has got their head in the sand.
“I am sick of screams of ‘racist’ to shut down debates that we very much need to have.
“This guy is a prime offender.”
We face a triple threat to our race relations: politicians playing race politics, sections of media trying to monetise racism, and continued efforts to undermine our institutional stance against racial discrimination. A preview of tonight’s speech https://t.co/gMNKxgEj3m

Graham Richardson tells Ben Fordham he certainly isn’t a fan of how the commissioner has conducted his work.
“I really object to people like him.
“I think his final remarks mirror his career. Stupid.”
