‘Kids will go hungry’: Ben Fordham slams Anthony Albanese’s plan
Ben Fordham has hit out at the federal government’s plans to scrap the cashless welfare card.
The card prevents up to 80 per cent of welfare money from being used on alcohol and gambling.
A major study into the card by the University of Adelaide found the towns that used it witnessed a 23 per cent decline in gambling.
The card was brought in because kids in disadvantaged areas were going without.
“This is going to hurt the people, not help them,” Ben said.
“Kids will go hungry because Anthony Albanese is too soft.”
