Three boys arrested after bashing man with ‘bat or pole’
Three boys have been arrested after bashing a man they knew with a bat or pole in Sydney’s west last night.
The 41-year-old was allegedly involved in a fight with the children on Hammon Avenue at Doonside at about 7pm on Sunday.
The boys – aged just 13, 14 and 16-years-old – allegedly hit the man in the head with a bat or pole.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Blacktown Hospital in a serious condition.
He has since been transferred to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in intensive care.
Following inquiries, officers went to a nearby home and arrested the three boys.
The two older boys have been charged with reckless cause grievous bodily harm, affray and being armed with intent.
The youngest boy has been charged with affray and being armed with intent.
All three have been refused bail to appear in a children’s court today.
The boys and the man are known to each other but it’s unclear what their relationship is.
