‘Time to rebuild the Spirit of Australia’: Union calls for resignation of Qantas boss Alan Joyce
The Transport Workers’ Union is calling for Alan Joyce to resign as the boss of Qantas.
The Federal Court has rejected Qantas’ appeal that it did not act illegally when it outsourced more than 1600 ground crew staff after sacking its workers in late 2020.
The national carrier will now take the case to the High Court.
Transport Workers’ Union Secretary Michael Kaine told Ben Fordham “we urge Qantas to reconsider”.
“As proud as we are of Qantas, it’s lost its way under this management team.
“It’s time for us to figure out how to rebuild the Spirit of Australia.”
