Toddlers hospitalised after drug overdose, mum arrested
A young mother will face court today after her two little girls suffered a drug overdose in Sydney’s western suburbs.
Emergency services were called to the family’s home at Bidwill on August 8, where they found the two girls – aged one and three – unresponsive.
The toddlers were rushed to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in a serious condition and have since been released.
Police began investigating and arrested the 26-year-old mother a month after the incident.
She’s been charged with abandon/expose child under 7 cause danger of death and neglect child in her care and will face Mount Druitt Local Court today.
It’s unclear if the children have remained in her care ahead of the court date but NSW Police has confirmed a child-at-risk notification form was completed.
