Tony Abbott: ‘For too long, the Russians have been getting away with murder’
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott says Foreign Minister Julie Bishop’s action on MH17 is “not good enough”.
The New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters has claimed there is no evidence Russia was involved in shooting down a Malaysian Airlines flight almost four years ago which killed 38 Australians.
It’s prompted Foreign Minister Julie Bishop to comment that the “investigation is ongoing.”
“It is not possible to form a view about the evidence as that has not been made public,” she says.
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has told Ben Fordham the Foreign Minister’s lack of action is “not good enough”, and Russia should be “in the diplomat dog box”.
“It is absolutely clear what happened here.
“For too long, the Russians have been getting away with murder. Literally getting away with murder,” he says.
“This wasn’t a tragedy, it was an atrocity.
“We know more than enough to know who was responsible for this.
“It’s bizarre of the NZ foreign minister to make excuses for the Russians.”
