Police Commissioner Karen Webb says a technical issue is the likely reason behind the tragic deaths of two police dogs found inside a police car as an investigation is launched.

Ms Webb says she’s keen to find out what went wrong with the purpose-built cars which have only been in service for 12 months.

“They spent years in development because prior to that we didn’t have air-conditioning pods, only cages in the back of a ute,” she told Ray Hadley.
