Torched car linked to gangland shooting allegedly stolen months ago
Police are hunting for at least three people involved in a daylight shooting that killed the brother of crime boss Bassam Hamzy.
Ghassan Amoun was found injured in a parked vehicle at South Wentworthville yesterday and died at the scene.
The 35-year-old had only been released from prison earlier this week, after last year breaching a crime prevention order.
Daily Telegraph crime editor Mark Morri told Chris Smith the shooting was likely planned for some time.
“The car that was used was stolen, I think last October from the Northern Beaches, it would’ve been stored, getting ready.
“They are making so much money and they are able to pay huge amounts of money for people who are willing to pull the trigger.”
