Treasurer insists a rebound of the economy is around the corner
Australia’s unemployment rate has dropped to 4.2% proving to be impressive despite omicron cases spiking, and previous lockdowns.
Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenburg told Luke Grant, “more people are in work in Australia today, compared to when Labor last left office”.
Jobs have been booming and the proportion of the population in work or looking for it has reached record highs.
With this number being the lowest since the global financial crisis, Mr Frydenburg believes there’s plenty to cheer about.
“It is difficult out there, but there are very strong signs of a rebound in the economy.”
