UPDATE | Truckie fined over Galston Gorge chaos
A truck has caused chaos at the Galston Gorge this morning, crashing and spilling diesel everywhere.
The truck was reportedly overlength but didn’t get stuck. It crashed into the bridge at the bottom of the gorge, damaging the bridge and the truck’s fuel tank.
Fire and Rescue, the RMS and police attended.
UPDATE
RMS inspectors attended the Galston Gorge and inspected a truck that was identified as being over length.
Inspectors will be issuing a fine for $2,270 plus six licence demerit points.
Given the damage to the bridge and aggravating circumstance, Roads and Maritime is considering suspension of the vehicle’s registration and the driver’s licence.
