Truck driver charged over road rage rampage on Sydney’s north shore
A man has been charged over a violent road rage incident on Sydney’s north shore.
At about 11.45am on Monday, a 55-year-old man was driving a truck on Forest Way at St Ives, allegedly tailgating a station wagon.
The truck driver allegedly threatened the other man with a metal bar before cutting him off and jumping out of his cab.
Channel 7 has spoken to the 59-year-old station wagon driver who claims the truck driver threatened him with a crowbar.
“He came up to the passenger side window, held the crowbar up and said ‘do you want to muck around? I’ll muck around with this’.”
It’s alleged the truck driver then smashed the front window of the car.
The car drove up onto the kerb in order to escape.
Police intercepted the truck on the Pacific Highway at Pymble, arresting the 55-year-old driver.
He’ll face Hornsby Local Court, charged with malicious damage, menacing driving and use offensive weapon.
Any witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
