A truck carrying a crane has hit the roof in the tunnel in Woolloomooloo.

One listener caught this footage of the damage.

Two of three southbound lanes are closed in the Eastern Distributor Tunnel near Art Gallery Road.

Southbound traffic is heavy and is queued back into the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution.

Traffic crews are on site clearing the debris.
