Two arrested over vicious stabbing outside Sydney backpackers hostel

Two men have been arrested and charged over the brutal stabbing of another man outside a Sydney backpacker’s hostel.
At about 3.30am on Sunday, two men who have been engaged in a longstanding feud got into an argument outside The Village hostel on Orwell Street at Potts Point.
A 27-year-old was allegedly slashed with a box-cutter on his face, back, shoulders and arms.
Bystanders helped stem the bleeding at the scene before he was rushed to nearby St Vincent’s Hospital for emergency surgery.
Police tracked down one of the alleged attackers at East Hills, a 27-year-old man, and placed him under arrest.
He’s been charged with common assault and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and been refused bail to face court on Tuesday.
On Monday evening, a 28-year-old turned himself in to Kings Cross Police Station and has been charged with affray.
He’s been granted bail to face court next month.
