Two dead after horror seven-vehicle crash
Two people have died following a horror multi-vehicle crash 20km north of Dubbo.
Five cars and two trucks collided on the Newell Highway around midday where two people died at the scene.
Three people were initially trapped, including a teenager whose car was crushed under a truck, but all have since been freed.
Eight people were rushed to Dubbo Base Hospital with a total of 10 injured.
It’s believed four cars, a truck and a utility were stopped at a roadworks site when they were hit from behind by the semi-trailer who failed to stop.
NSW Police Superintendent Peter McKenna gave an update following the crash on the condition of those still trapped in the wreckage.

The Newell Highway is still closed in both directions.
Motorists needing to travel between Gilgandra and Dubbo are advised to travel via Narromine along the Mitchell Highway and Eumungerie Road.
