New South Wales is leading the country in vaccinations and has lifted lockdown today, providing hope for the rest of Australia for living with COVID.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg told Ray Hadley given the vaccines’ proven efficacy, there’s “no excuse” now for anyone without a medical exemption to remain unvaccinated.

“We shouldn’t be focusing on the number of cases, we should be focusing on the hospitalisations.

“The experience, Ray, of the United Kingdom is really instructive here – they’re still getting 30,000+ cases each day, but their rate of hospitalisation has fallen by 83 per cent.”
