South Sydney Sydney Rabbitohs Coach Jason Demetriou has admitted he was “very close” to naming star hooker Damien Cook for the Friday night clash against the Roosters.

The superstar player is currently out due to COVID protocols but with recent alleviated rules the coach told Mark Levy and Brad Fittler that naming him was an option.

” It just wasn’t worth the risk.”

“We don’t want to have to name people and then pull them out at the last minute.”
