Virgin boss says quicker flights could be the next step
Virgin Australia boss Paul Scurrah says quicker flights, rather than longer flights, may be the next step for aviation.
Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson has promised to take on Qantas on ultra-long-haul flights as Qantas launches its second test flight direct from London to Sydney.
But Mr Scurrah tells Ross Greenwood the next step may be looking at shortening flights.
“The other factor here that we’re keen on looking at is how can we make it quicker.
“At some point in the future, we need to look at the speed, and closing the gap between flights that are sometimes very long and can be a little onerous on the body.”
