Vandals have knocked down gravestones at a War Cemetery on the south coast of New South Wales.

Five marble graves commemorating World War II Diggers at Nowra War Cemetery have been pulled from the ground and smashed.

It is the second time the cemetery has been vandalised in the past couple of years and some of the headstones are damaged beyond repair.

NSW Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs Greg Warren tells Steve Price he was shocked to learn what happened.

“I just can’t believe it. What is wrong with these people?”
