A Queensland detective has been filmed tackling a man who interrupted his press conference on the Sunshine Coast.

Detective Senior Sargeant Daren Edwards was in the middle of a press conference outside Maroochydore Police Station when a man came running towards him.

He was being chased by another man, who said he’d made lewd comments towards his daughter.

The detective immediately executes the perfect tackle, knocking the man to the ground and cuffing him.

The man has been charged with public nuisance and stalking offences.
