Jonny Bairstow has already hit the headlines once during England’s tour of Australia for unleashing “something he does with his rugby mates”.

But after the pre-Ashes ‘headbutt’ on Cameron Bancroft that put Bairstow at the centre of a media storm, the wicketkeeper has now shown off some of his on-field rugby ability.

Following England’s 4-0 Test series defeat and ahead of the five-match ODI series that gets under way on Sunday, Bairstow has spent some time with NRL side Melbourne Storm.

And the Yorkshireman – a fly-half in his youth – has proved himself more than capable from the tee, as you can see in this video posted on Bairstow’s Instagram…
