We all like a challenge but what this Aussie woman has just completed is ‘absurd’
We all like a challenge, but a Sydney massage therapist has taken that notion to the next level!
Michelle Lee has just spent 68 days 12 hours and 49 minutes alone at sea, completing The Atlantic Challenge.
She rowed solo from the Canary Islands to the West Indies, more than 5000 kilometres!
Despite only picking up the sport two years ago, Michelle has become the first Australian woman to row solo across any ocean.
She tells Alan the conditions, both calm and rough, made it an extremely tough slog.
“This year it was typically unfavourable so there was at least eight days of my row where I had absolutely nothing, not a breath of wind, it was flat, which means it’s hard work.”
Alan congratulated Michelle, in complete disbelief at her achievements.
“You’re a star. I can’t believe you’ve done what you’ve done. That’s absurd!” says Alan.
