Police call for more funding to treat psychological injuries
Police are calling for more funding to treat the psychological injuries officers often acquire on the job.
The NSW Police Force wants to focus more on preventing such injuries, but say they don’t have the money.
Police Association of NSW Secretary Pat Gooley tells Ray Hadley 95 per cent of medical discharges are due to PTSD.
“It’s very disturbing.
“We can prevent these injuries in the bulk, and we can certainly treat them better, but we just don’t have the funding to move forward.”
