‘We’re not punching bags’: Police Commissioner ‘hopeful’ for appeal in William Kershaw case
The NSW Police Commissioner is hopeful for an appeal after a man accused of assaulting police officers was found not guilty.
William Peter Kershaw allegedly choked a female officer and struck a male officer in the groin when they responded to a domestic violence incident.
He pleaded guilty but because the officers never told him why he was under arrest, he has avoided the charge.
Karen Webb told Ray Hadley she’s inquired about an appeal with the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“I’m certainly hoping that we can appeal that matter.
“No one expects to be treated like that and then to go to court and have to endure it all again.”
