Wharfies are putting industrial action on hold for at least a month as they continue to fight for a pay deal.

The Maritime Union of Australia has committed to withdrawing its overtime bans at terminals across the country.

Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar told Ben Fordham “it’s encouraging”.

“The last thing Australians want is to go back to the bad old days on the wharves.”
