‘What a gee up’: Jim Wilson slams Liverpool speed camera ‘cash grab’
Jim Wilson has slammed Liverpool’s speed camera “cash grab”.
Over 90 per cent of Liverpool residents recently said in a community consultation, that they do not support the 30km/h speed camera to remain in the Liverpool CBD. The consultation surveyed close to 2,000 residents and was conducted by Liverpool City Council.
Bigge Street in Liverpool has been revealed by Channel 9 as one of the top earning speed cameras in Sydney. The speed camera in a 30 km/hr zone has raised a total of $2.58 million in fines in the first seven months of this year.
“What a dead set gee up and come on can we cut hard-working Sydneysiders a break, this is just a total rip off and the state government and Transport New South Wales should be ashamed,” Jim said.
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun told Jim Wilson the trial is “unfair” and “needs to be stopped immediately”.
