Treasurer Jim Chalmers has announced over $21 billion in funds following this Federal Budget, and welfare recipients stand to gain the most over working-class Australians who will receive minimal assistance.

The budget includes a fortnightly increase of $40 for people on unemployment benefits, which is a rise of 6 per cent.

There are more than 1 million people receiving JobSeeker and Youth Allowance, so the cost of this increase is estimated at $4.9 billion

“Our economy is basically being carried by workers and commodities,” said Ben.
