Why an infectious diseases expert has labelled QLD’s COVID approach ‘overkill’
Passengers on two Virgin Australia flights into Queensland have been ordered into quarantine after a fellow traveller tested positive for COVID-19.
People who flew Newcastle to Brisbane on flight VA1105 on Monday, and Brisbane to Townsville on flight VA375 soon after, will spend Christmas in quarantine.
Professor Peter Collignon told Chris Smith they should only be in isolation for a few days.
“That is overkill.
“That’s inappropriate when you’ve got high levels of vaccination.
“We’re not in zero COVID, we’re never going to achieve that.”
