Despite its iconic harbour and countless beaches, Sydneysiders don’t care much for Sydney.
On average, 129 people ditch the city for good every day.
Chris Smith speaks with demographer Bernard Salt to find out why people are making the move.
He tells Chris “the quality of housing, the cost of housing you can get on the Central Coast” is one reason why people leave.
“I think we’ll see this escalate over the next 10, 15 years.
“A lot of those people leaving, I think, will be downshifters.
“You sell up, and you move out, you buy a place up the coast or down the coast.”
