Why do boys perform better at co-ed schools than single-sex schools?
Randwick Boys and Girls are set to merge into one co-ed school, and it’s sparked debate over why boys seem to perform better when at co-ed schools with girls.
The rule of thumb has seemed for years that girls perform better at single-sex schools, while boys seem to lift their game at co-ed schools. With the news of the Randwick schools merging, Joe Hildebrand spoke to an ex-Randwick pupil about why she’s in favour of the merger.
“The top performing high school in New South Wales is a co-ed school, so what does that tell us?”, Phyllis Foundis told Joe.
